Khmer Dance

Khmer Dance
- -“Apsara” is the name of a dancer with a gold crown. She is slim and good at dancing. She is the symbol of Cambodia in the world. Khmer traditional dancers use the style of sculptures carved on the walls of temples in Angkor. Perfect, gentle and slow gestures lift the audiences out of the everyday world. In the provinces, popular dance shows the daily lives of the people: pestle dance, Kap Krâbei Phoeuk Sra dance (Killing buffalos and drinking wine), the wild ox dance, and the harvest competition dance between men and women.
