A Woman's Place is a film about women survivors of genocide who own small restaurants and are challenging traditional gender roles by turning raw ingredients into sources of power for themselves and many others. Women are impacted differently from their male counterparts in genocide. As seen in Cambodia and Rwanda, after a vast majority of men are killed in genocide, women face the issue of survival all over again. They have to survive struggling in a changing global society.
