CALL FOR SUBMISSION: 8th China International New Media Short Film Festival

The 8th China International New Media Short Film Festival (CSFF) will be held in Shenzhen from November 24th to December 3rd ,2017. If you have short films less than 20 minutes, CSFF would like to suggest you to participate by submitting your film, an outstanding opportunity to make your work known by Chinese public and get prize amounting to RMB 300,000.


1. Submit your film

The submission is open from May 10th to September 10th, 2017.

The final shortlisted films will be announced on September 29th, 2017.

2. Requirement for KingBonn Award Short Film

The requirements on the works participating in screening and the KingBonn Award-Short Film Director Supporting Program are as follow:

- Genre: Drama, Documentary or Animation

- Duration: Within 20 minutes

- Subtitle: English subtitle must be provided in the film for all dialogues, voiceover and commentary

- Video quality: High-definition 720p (1280*720) and above, H264 code first

- Production date: Produced after 1st Jan. 2016

- Contents: The texts, languages, scenarios and backgrounds, etc.,

· shall not violate the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China;

· shall not contain or involve any content on ethnic, religious or racial discrimination;

· shall not contain pornographic, violent or other unhealthy contents;

· shall not be suspected of plagiarizing or infringing upon others' copyright;

· works with wholesome topics and skillful combination of ideology, art, and technology are encouraged;

· works conveying innovative ideas are encouraged.

Film submitted shall also submit the following materials apart from the film file:

1. A poster of the entry in the format of a vector diagram that can be converted into any publication form or a high-resolution JPG file;

2. A still image of the entry, which may be a screen-shot of the entry;

3. Two snapshots of the director or cast that are taken recently, which should be high-resolution JPG files that can be converted to any publication form;

4. Text files or script file of the dialogue in English version.


Being admitted by the official selection means the short film will be screened in Shenzhen and will participate in the "Kingbonn Short Film Director Supporting Program" competition.

The Chinese and international jury of the 8th CSFF will elect the directors of Chinese and foreign short films from the official selection and the elected winners will receive incentive and supporting fund to create new works, and the biggest prize for the best short film of the year is 300,000 RMB (about 40 000 euros).
